Sorry, thought you were logging in as admin to the webengine.
Don't set any server id password - it's one of the requirements for sametime server install. Remove password and try then. Your configuration should work. I use standard client v8.5 with Sametime Limited server version. I can no connect even using 3rd party clients if needed after removing that sametime.ini. You can try 3rd party client as well - if that connects and log in everything should :)
Is all set up right on security page in config as well like who can access the server, password check on notes ids disabled and internet authentication to more names (it's more for web login only). You can ping me on email so I can check your config a bit more closely.
